Upcoming Lunar Eclipse and You

On March 4^th we will experience a lunar eclipse on the sidereal (these means Eastern not Western astrology) Leo/Aquarius axis. This is a complicated eclipse because there are so many planets currently in Aquarius.

On the world stage we can see the turmoil of a new society in the birth pangs of trying to be re-born into the Aquarian age. And here we have a load of planets in Aquarius complicit in an eclipse.

So, what is an eclipse? The Sun and the Moon are “in opposition”, which means they are directly across from each other lined up for a full moon.  Each luminary is conjunct, next to the eclipse point Rahu (North Node) and Ketu (South Node). The Moon’s light will be eclipsed by the alignment of the Earth, Sun and Moon.

So technically there is an alignment of forces. But the light of the Moon will be blocked by the Earth.  And Mercury will be retrograde.

Mercury retrogrades today, 2/25/2026 through March 20^th.

Astrologically the story goes that the Goddess, the Moon, cycles through moving away from Her beloved, the waxing phase, and then moving back for reunion, the waning phase.

She cannot become her fullest creative Self without this movement that we live through every month. It is the journey each of us should make. On the new moon we plant a creative seed for the coming lunation cycle in whatever sign the moon resides in. What the goal is will be determined by which house that is for you.

For example, if it is your fifth house, you would focus on investing in the stock market, in your children, or creative projects.

Astrology helps to give us a framework for our actions. Everything in life can be classified into one of the twelve houses.

If we follow the lunar cycle, we see how our minds flow. But during an eclipse our minds are darkened possibly by material concerns represented by the earth.  But Ketu is the culprit and Ketu wants to separate you from the material world and make you spiritual.

The great sage Ramana Maharishi had Ketu conjunct his natal Moon. Usually, one would say this is a “bad” set up. But it helped him merge with All that Is.

So, you see it is all in how we use energy. And that is the whole point of astrology. We learn a language, astrology, to interpret the forces of nature and then we learn to work with them for our creativity and evolution.

God created this system and gave it to us so we can know what’s up.

But sometimes the ego doesn’t quite get it. So, eclipses come along and can cover up your normal thinking and “make you” do something you might not normally do. Especially with Mercury retrograde. Mercury being the intellect.

So, the intellectual force is turned inward and not paying attention to the outward world. The eclipse comes along and darkens your emotional self. And you go do something stupid.

But was it stupid? I think not.

This is the benefit of being older and living through these cycles and studying them through my own life and my clients.

So, I will tell you a real story that illustrates what might happen to you.

 During the eclipse season one year I signed a contract to start a business with someone I didn’t really know.  This is very out of character for me. I have a Capricorn Moon; I am conservative in action and a very good businessperson.

But looking back it was like I was under a cloud of confusion. The eclipses bring confusion. Anyway, it didn’t last 6 months. It was wrong on many levels. But it brought to the surface a significant issue I wasn’t aware of was lurking in my unconscious. It initiated a process I then spent a few years unraveling.

This specifically had to do with my mother complex as a psychoanalyst would say. Because the Moon represents the mother.

Yoga teaches us that everything is mind. All you think and feel creates your reality. Because reality is just perception. One person is “poor” by other people’s standards, but they are grateful and happy living simply. Another person is wealthy and miserable. Which is true poverty?

The astrology chart shows the psychological constructs you have been working under. Unpacking that and applying remedies is the answer. But you must pay attention. The planets don’t harm or cause. They exist as a symbolic language for our soul to be guided by for our internal process.

And as Carl Jung said, what you don’t deal with comes to you as fate. You keep thinking about something with enough emotion attached to it comes to you as an event.

I will share another illustration of this. I live on a busy road. I must sit and wait to turn into my driveway sometimes and the cars rush up behind me and speed around in the shoulder. One summer I suddenly became fearful of getting hit. I have never had this fear in the 30+ years I have lived on this road. But that bastard Saturn was afflicting my Moon. Saturn makes you deal with what you fear. About a week or two of this and one of my guides came through and said, stop it, you are going to create this! Which made me stop.

Now, you may not be lucky enough yet to hear your guides shouting, that just takes practice and attention. But you get my point.

The planets stimulate what we need to clear or sort out. We are the ones that created the mess to begin with. Or we are the ones that created the blessing!

So, fear not! It is all a beautiful web of dancing energy we are joyfully here to play with!

My job is to teach you about your signatures and how to seek to balance them. This is very different than, “what does the astrology say is going to happen.”

Now, we have signed up for specific coursework in this brief lifetime. And that can be seen clearly in the astrology chart too.  If you were born to play the part of an apple you cannot just decide to be a Llama. It doesn’t work like that.

But each of us intrinsically knows, you know? And each of us knows it is us that must take up the reigns and master our forces so we can flow joyfully along with this beautiful creation. And all of life, all the planetary beings, those great angels of light and the constellations, those beautiful beings of love are all conspiring to support you to become your highest self.
