A culture of madness

For people deep into astrology the first thing we do when something happens in the world is start researching the chart. Consequently, I found Charlie Kirk’s birth data, rectified his time via his children and marriage. And there one can see the evidence of the event. Malefic Saturn and Mars opposing each other very close if not on top of his ascendant.  In my world view this was a karmic event.

In yoga philosophy this is all a dream, yet paradoxically of course very real. Our job is to seek God within ourselves and live a balanced life. Not too spiritual, not too materialistic, holding the tension of different drivers, like the reigns of a chariot with the many horses. We, the charioteers, must learn to tame all the different forces.

This is the opening seen in the Hindu holy book the Bhagavagita. The main character is on the battlefield in a chariot holding the reigns of many horses and God is there with him. He says, “I don’t want to fight. I don’t want to kill my kinsmen’.  Arjuna is king of a kingdom, and his family wants to be. They want the power to rule. But God determines who rules. And that ruler may not be a “good person”. God tells him, you find yourself in battle you must fight. There is no death, it is an illusion.  No one really dies.

The chariot is a metaphor for the individual and the senses and all the drivers of life. The story is meant to hit us on many different levels. Our task is to master and reign in the horses, the passions, the drivers.

The Biblical book of Daniel tells the same story. God determines who rules. The rulers aren’t always Christian or Moslem or whatever. None of our business. Daniel is guided as an “other” within a foreign kingdom and prospers as he stays true to his inner God.

In Christian mysticism, reincarnation is recognized by such greats as Emmet Fox and Edgar Cayce. If there is no death it gives us a larger viewpoint to ponder. Our job is to do the best with what life presents to us and to rise to mastery.

As an astrologer I have been told I do the work of the devil by some Christians. I’m alright with that. I don’t take it personally. I am not fearful or angry. There are billions of people on this earth and many of them probably don’t agree with me or what I do.  But I am a Christian, I love Jesus, and it is the God inside of me I have to worry about. The outside world does not determine my mental health, my happiness or my salvation. Only my inner self, my inner light that I have worked long and hard to develop. I, like Daniel, will just keep going with my private relationship with my God in a foreign kingdom.

Social media is a cesspool, and it is not reality. I was shocked to read people’s posts about this event. People where blaming Trump, the victim himself and transgender people.

The Bible teaches us to not judge and to love our brother. Period end of story. It is none of our business the life of another and the choices they make. Jesus taught that the rules and regulations were not barriers to God and in some instances can be broken. Everyone has a journey and God meets them there. It is deeply private and personal.

May all the angels and God bless Charlie Kirk and his suffering family. God Bless every person struggling with Transgender issues. God Bless President Trump. God Bless Every “liberal” and every “conservative”. I will not judge, I will not hate, and I will not pick sides. Because it’s all bullshit. Stop participating in the social media/political toxic culture. Stop seeing enemies and “other” sides. Jesus taught us to love the other. Well, the other IS Trump or Is someone transgender, someone conservative or liberal. Fuck all of you for hating/fearing or judging anyone. None of us know these people. We only see the curated view of whichever news people or podcasters you watch. Walk away. Seek God inside of yourself and make your own decisions. Because if you are hating or fearing an “other” of any stripe you are on the wrong path. I challenge you to sit down across from that other and I bet you will find they are just another human being who is lost and found many times in their own lives, just like you and me.

Coming from a mental health background what I see in the culture is a mental health crisis. This crisis is exacerbated by the news and people being zombies to mass, non-stop media consumption.  I see people unable to unplug, to be quiet for even 5 minutes. Anxiety and depression are through the roof because of it. Unplug, stop the madness. I promise you the world will not stop turning and you won’t be sticking your head in the sand.

Decide to be a channel of peace. If enough people choose that, the tide can change. Until people unplug this madness continues. It is not natural to be consuming this much non-stop data. And to keep you hooked in, they ratchet up the drama. There is no better story than the good side and the bad side, the hero and villain and that is all you see.

I love each person but that doesn't mean I lack discrimination and let every person in. I recognize that not everyone has the same drivers as I do. I can let go and love from afar. I cannot save, carry or redeem anyone. I can only do what God puts in my life today. I work to stay present, stay mindful and to not judge. As the book of Job tells us, we don’t have God’s mind. We don’t and cannot know why people suffer. And our own suffering should send us on a journey within to find our own meaning. No one else has your answer, and your machinations against whatever boogey man you are seeing out there just keeps the madness churning.
